Early in the moorning I will pick you up at your hotel then the excursion starts on the west coast of Tahiti, in Papeari. At first we will cycle 9 km (with engine assistance) exploring the valley of Titaaviri untill we reach the 2nd dam for a spectacular panorama of the lake, waterfalls and valley. Then we will go to the Vaipoo valley with its 2 natural baths and multiple river crossings. Some time will be given for lunch (provided) and swimming before making our way back to the hotel.
VAITUORU VALLEYS (PAPENOO)
Join me off the beaten path to discover the wonders and legends of the Vaituoru Valley in Papenoo on the East coast of Tahiti. This 36 km round trip hike will include many climbs and descents with a cumulative positive elevation gain of 950m. Our ascent will last about 2 to 3 hours and will lead us to the Vaitapaa dam, where we will have lunch. On the way, we will cross several rivers and will be able to bathe and to admire the lake and the waterfall of Puraha, the Relais de la Maroto and the Fare Hape. The descent to the Puraha parking lot will begin in the early afternoon.
VALLEYS OF TEVAITE AND ARBORETUM OF TARAVAO
Join me off the beaten track to discover 2 completely different spots in terms of terrain and vegetation. In the morning we'll be in Tevaite, a hike that will start with a ridge crossing and then take us on an 18 km round trip climb to the Tevaite dam and lake. This is a very wet valley with rocky and slippery ground, which implies that the hiker is already an experienced cyclist. Back to the car we will head back to the Belvedere of Taravao. Once there, we will have lunch at the Belvedere. The Taravao Arboretum is a 3km loop where some technical passages can be crossed on foot while pushing the bike. In the middle of the afternoon we will return to the hotel.
